Day 3 : Sigiriya Rock
An early wake up time today as we put on our hiking shoes, grab our camera and head out to climb the incredible Sigiriya Rock. Protruding produly out of the earth, ruins of a grand palace provide evidence all around the grounds of a once violent and noble Sri Lankan history. View the ancient wall paintings, the sanskript marked mirror wall and the huge stone lion paws guarding the ascent to the summit. The views from the top are unrivalled as you travel through time examining the ruins. This afternoon you have the option to go on an extra safari in Minneriya national park, where elephants patrol the land (please note, this safari is included during whale watching off season). To fill those hungry bellies, we stop by a local family for lunch who will prepare a traditional feast for us before taking a well-deserved rest on a lounger in the afternoon sun.
Meals :Breakfast

Day 4 : Let's Travel South. Kandy and Cooking Class
Today we say goodbye to Sigiriya and embark on our travels down south towards Sri Lanka’s second largest city, Kandy. We will stop at a spice garden on the way to learn about where our favourite spices come from and have a cooking class where we’ll learn the secret to a perfect Sri Lankan curry! Here, our local chef will teach you how to make dhal and chicken curry as well as fried cashew coconut sambal and poppadoms. Then we’ll continue our drive to Kandy, check in to our next accommodation and take in the sights and sounds of this bustling city with a Tuk Tuk tour!

We stop by a functioning tea factory to learn how the tea is processed and ends up in your cup at home, whilst actually learning how 7 different types of tea are made all from the same plant! A trip to Sri Lanka is not complete without experiencing life on the train and the journey from Nuwara Eliya to Ella is dubbed as the best journey in the world. 180 degree views of tea plantations, waterfalls, lakes and local villages pass on by as your train traverses the tracks cut into the mountainside. Try the sweet milk tea on board, converse with friendly locals and take pictures to make you the envy of all your friends back home. After we check into our hotel, we’ll head into Ella for dinner and drinks in everyone’s favourite mountainous town.

The tour was fantastic! It included everything that you would want to do in Sri Lanka from visiting all of the main attractions and taking in Sri Lankan culture. Simen was fantastic and went above and beyond. He arranged a minibus to diyaluma falls and came with us! Took all of the photos and made sure we were safe and had an amazing time! There’s just enough spare time offered on the tour to go off and do your own thing and Simen made sure we could do our own activiities for as cheap as possible, sometimes free and made the experience every bit as enjoyable! We are travelling for the whole year and this tour was hassle free and I didn’t have to plan or worry about a thing

Loved the entire Sri Lanka experience. Simen was an amazing guide despite everything that was going on at our time of travel. Would love to go back and see more of Sri Lanka one day

I absolutely loved the Sri Lanka tour! It was such an amazing experience and Simen was soooo awesome! And also the local guides did an excellent job. Everything was so well organized and Simen has always been open for changes in our tour if we wanted to. Even if the start of our tour has been overshadowed by the attacks - it didn't make my experience worse. Simen immediately got in contact with us because he knew we arrived a few days earlier. I appreciate that, because it's not obvious that a guide makes so much effort even if the tour hasn't started that time. Sri Lankans are so lovely and I felt safe the whole time. Despite that, Simen was always there if we had any doubts about our trip due to these circumstances. The activities we made were so cool and I saw a lot of this beautiful country. The accommodations were excellent as well and the service was a lot higher than my expectations. What an amazing and well organized holiday!

WOW! What an amazing tour! I loved every second of this tour from the stunning green mountains to the chilled coastline! The highlight of the tour for me was visiting Ella, a town that literally looked like a fairy tale! This was my second tour with Simen, after completing the Philippines! He will do ANYTHING for you and his smile and positivity keeps the energy of the tour alive!! Simen and the local tour guides were amazing throughout the tour and kept us all feeling super safe after what had occurred in Colombo! security is at every hotel and tourist attraction you visit and this makes you feel super safe and comfortable!!

The tour was amazing. Beautiful country. Simen was amazing - nothing was too much trouble for him and he really did go the extra mile to ensure we all had an incredible time. Simens local knowledge meant that we got the most out of the tour and met the most amazing local people. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting a real adventure. I felt totally safe in Sri Lanka... Simen and One Life went the extra mile at a difficult time for the country to ensure the safety of all those on the tour. Excellent experience!!
