Day 1 : Friday
Today upon arrival into Nadi you will be greeted in the arrivals hall by a Real Fijian representative who will take you to your hotel and also hook you up with a local phone sim card and a re-useable water bottle to keep our single-use plastic use down. To make the most of the day though, we recommend arriving early in the afternoon to enjoy the resort and get to know your fellow group members and Real Fijian guide over a welcome dinner.
Meals :Dinner
Day 2 : Saturday
Now your Real Fijian Adventure really begins with an early start to explore the main island of Viti Levu as we journey inland for a truly unique cultural experience – a highland village homestay. Arriving about lunchtime you will be welcomed with a traditional Fijian kava ceremony. Kava is a popular homemade drink consumed by Fijian people during celebrations and ceremonies. Most visitors will experience such ceremonies when travelling Fiji but very few get to witness it conducted by locals in their own village. After lunch you'll get to participate in a range of activities including mountain-hiking, a tour of the local waterfall and plantation, helping replace thatch on traditional bure huts, learning to basket-weave or how to prepare a traditional lovo dinner. Tonight, not only will you get to see the preparation, you will enjoy a lovo feast with the village locals while also watching traditional meke dancing.
Meals :Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 3 : Sunday
After your overnight in highland Fiji, have breakfast and a swim in the river (time-permitting) before heading back down to the coast where your private boat transfer awaits you for your first island hop to the Mamanucas! Catapulted into fame by Tom Hanks and his sidekick volleyball in the film Castaway, the Mamanucas are an incredible archipelago of coral reefs and marine life, all a coconut's throw away from the mainland of Fiji but with the illusion of a remote tropical paradise. Our home for the next 24ish hours will be Beachcomber; an oasis in the sea fringed by palm trees and white sandy beaches which also carries the label of being Fiji's party island by night. During the day, you can snorkel around the island to spot gorgeous sea turtles or for the more energetic, a game of beach volleyball.
Meals :Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 4 : Monday
Our journey into the Yasawa Islands begins today as we head further out of civilisation and further into remote 'WOW!' paradise to one of the most striking islands in the Yasawas, Kuata island. Arriving mid-morning on day four, we'll call this beautiful island home for two nights. During this time you will take part in a sunset cruise, a guided reef snorkel and a sunset hike to an amazing viewpoint to remind you of just how vast and serene this country is. In between these included activities you will have plenty of time to relax on the beach or by the pool or if you're feeling a little more active you can choose an exciting optional activity such as a certified dive with bull sharks or doing a Learn to Scuba Dive course.
Meals :Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 5 : Tuesday
Waking to the sound of waves gently rolling in, today can be as active or leisurely as you like! Enjoy a relaxing breakfast before setting out on one of the optional activities, such as diving with bull sharks or beginning your learn to dive course or maybe relaxing poolside with a book, before trying your hand on the Stand Up Paddle Boards…the choice is yours!
Meals :Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 6 : Wednesday
A mid-morning transfer sees us journey further into the Yasawas and to the gorgeous Drawaqa Island. This resort home of ours is perched on the end of the sandy island, giving us both sunrise and sunset vistas as well as a plethora of snorkelling and lazing spots to listen to the waves lapping against the sand. During our stay you will have a special activity included to help keep this natural paradise clean and healthy for generations to come. Starting with a talk from a marine biologist on the current impact climate change is having on the Fijian underwater environment, you will participate in what is called a COTS survey. COTS or Crown of Thorns Sea Star is a type of starfish that can be destructive to coral reef if left to breed out of control. Lead by the marine biologist, you will head out with your snorkels and assist in identifying and counting the amount of COTS in one area to be removed. All proceeds contributed by you in your Real Fijian Adventures tour price for this activity goes straight back into further conservation projects on the reefs of Fiji. AND… just when you think that the tour inclusions are already amazing, during Manta Ray season (May to October) you will have a guided snorkel to swim with these majestic giants of the sea. When the Mantas aren't around, you will still get a beautiful guided snorkel with the opportunity to see hundreds of species of fish, sea turtles, other rays, and reef sharks). To cap it all off we'll have a nice beach BBQ for dinner one evening watching the sunset and you'll get to do another sunset hike with a few beverages on the other evening.
Meals :Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 7 : Thursday
This morning you wake up on the Drawaqa Island, our most northern Fijian island stay. Today the possibilities are endless, from an educational talk with a marine biologist, to an Mantra Ray guided snorkel (seasonal) or a chance to explore all nature has to offer on a hike or kayak around this beautiful island.
This evening is our last “Island” stay, before heading back to the mainland, so why not enjoy a sunset hike and witness the sunset from this end of the Fijian Islands one last time!
Meals :Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 8 : Friday
You'll have the morning to relax before transferring back to the point where it all began - our arrival hotel near Nadi. You'll be on the boat for a couple of hours today so you may wish to bring a good book or download Castaway before you leave home. Upon arrival back in Nadi for our last night in Fiji, we'll have a farewell dinner with our guide and group.
Meals :Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 9 : Saturday
The worst day by far… time to say goodbye to Fiji. Dependent on your booked outbound flight, you will have time for breakfast before an airport shuttle returns you to Nadi International Airport.
