2 Day Sydney to Melbourne High Country Tour

Perfect way to connect Sydney and Melbourne

Take in the spectacular Australian high country with this tour staying overnight in a genuine working cattle farm. Hang with the locals and family, hear original Aussie stories and folklore about the old Australia during the times of the gold rushes and outlaws such as Ned Kelly. Taste a local beer in Beechworth or visit a honey farm. Visit Canberra.

Leaving Sydney along the great Murray River and Victoria Alps we head to the town of Mansfield. Whereas Northern Sydney is characterised by grand canyons and the big red outback here the landscape is ever changing from the Great Dividing Range lush forests and strong running rivers. It was here that outlaw here Ned Kelly made his home eventually being tried for multiple murders in the town of Beechworth.  Your overnight stay on a working cattle farm will be one of the highlight stays on your whole Australia experience. With no lights from nearby cities to pollute the sky the view of the Milky Way is astronomical (ha ha). Chat with the family and help feed the animals.

Before we reach Melbourne we visit Australia's capital city of Canberra. Here we can visit Parliament House, the Yarralumla Embassy District National Museum of Australia, the National Gallery Mt Ainslie Lookout or the Australian War Memorial.

Note: Only shared accommodation can be booked online. We can arrange single and double rooms so please contact us if you would like to book these.

Another note: This trip can also be taken in reverse starting in Melbourne and finishing in Sydney.

I will Definitely go Back Again!

My mother and I went on this tour, as it was conveniently situated by our hotel (Punthill Northbank) and recommended by the hotel staff. When booking two tours they offered us free tickets to the Melbourne Zoo and the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel (I love a good deal). I understand there are companies with both above and below the price we paid, but in my opinion what they offer is an absolute bargain for the service you get, so I honestly wouldn't want to risk going for any less as the conditions are probably not the best.

First tour we went on was the 12 Apostles. Very long day as there is a lot of driving involved but not a second was dull! The driver (Tim) was friendly (and absolutely hilarious), he was training a guy named Josh and there were many (good) jokes being made between them. On a more serious note, they were both approachable and there was no question they didn't have an answer to.

They let us sleep when they knew we'd have the time and woke us up with a friendly "wakey wakey" on the microphone. Two days later we went on Philip Island. From the moment we got on the bus we had big smiles as Josh was there again for his training! The driver (Kurt) and Josh were again really helpful and funny at times and we had a great day. They had a lot of fun facts and tips for the Penguin Parade which were appreciated.

I overheard many occasions on this trip when Josh was asking lots of questions and Kurt completed his answer with "what might also be helpful to people is ...", my point being you can tell these guys really care about your experience and go above and beyond for people to have a good day! On both tours lunch was included, which was made on the spot with vegetarian options available. This is a much better alternative to giving each person a boxed sandwich, as it gives people a chance to chat to each other. Apologies for going on about the staff more than the actual trip.

The tours were both staggering but the staff are by far the reason why I will definitely go back again!

    Mel-Syd Tour With 'THE' Jeremy

Did the Melbourne to Sydney 2 day tour with Jeremy as my guide. The tour itself had wonderful views, a nice tour of Canberra and the farm stay was so much fun!

The homely feel combined with great animals (including crazy camels) and delicious food made it a fantastic place to stay.

However, by far and away the best part of the trip was Jeremy!! He made a genuine effort to get to know every single person on the tour, provided great information and kept the tour moving at a good average speed but gave us enough time to see everything. He was just an all round amazing guy and definitely the best tour guide I've ever had!

Our guide Peter was fantastic, very friendly and knowledgeable. He engaged with the group and helped break the ice.

The farm stay was also very good and accommodating.
